Washing and Care Guide

Washing your RED Fox Pads is simple and doesn’t need to be complicated. Follow these basic steps to ensure your pads come clean every time:

1. Pre-Wash or Soak

Start with a pre-wash or soak to remove most of the blood. This will make it easier to clean the pads thoroughly in the next step.

  • Quick Wash: You can do a quick wash in your machine.

  • Soak: Fill a bucket with cold water and add the pads to soak for 12-48 hours. Cold water helps prevent stains from setting.

2. Regular Wash

At the end of your period, wash all your pads together- Wash your pads with other laundry as usual. Use the recommended amount of detergent for the load size.

  • Machine Wash: Bulk up your washing machine with other laundry. Avoid using fabric softener, as it can cause fabrics to repel moisture.

  • Hand Wash: Hand washing works great if you prefer not to wash your pads with regular clothes or don't want to use the machine for just a few pads. You can use cold, warm, or hot water based on your preference.

Stain Treating

If you want to keep your pads looking new and stain-free, try these simple stain-treating methods:

  • Hydrogen Peroxide: Excellent for removing blood stains. Pour or spray some peroxide directly on the stain between steps 1 and 2. Leave it for a couple of hours, then wash as usual.

  • Other Stain Treatments: Use your preferred stain treatment products and follow the instructions for use.

Drying and Storing

Drying your pads properly ensures they last longer and stay hygienic.

  • Drying: You can either tumble dry on low to medium heat or hang them to air dry. Air drying will extend the life of your pads, but it takes longer.

  • Ensuring Dryness: Ensure the pads are completely dry before storing them until your next cycle. Even if the outside feels dry, moisture could be trapped within the layers.

  • Storage: Store your pads in a way that allows airflow. Good options include a wicker basket, a dresser drawer, or a plastic container without sealing the lid. During your period, store used pads in a menstrual bag. Rinse used pads immediately after use if you prefer.
